Privacy Policy — Kitchen Time
Last updated: November 5, 2026
About this policy
Kitchen Time is an app made by OmniVibe LLC, a company in Oregon, USA ("OmniVibe", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information Kitchen Time collects, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It covers the Kitchen Time apps for iPhone, Android and the web, and the Kitchen Time pages on omnivibegames.com.
OmniVibe LLC is responsible for your information (the "controller" under laws such as the EU and UK GDPR). Questions about this policy go to contact@omnivibegames.com.
The short version
- We collect what the app needs to work: your account, what you put into the app, and reports you choose to send.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, use advertising or analytics trackers, or use your information to train AI models.
- Allergens, dietary needs and the food and symptom journal are health information. We use them only to run the features you use, and you can delete them at any time.
- Photos you take in the app stay on your phone, and we never receive recordings of your voice.
- You can see, correct, export and delete your information, and delete your account in the app.

Information from others
- Household members can add items, lists and notes that you see, and can send you a shopping trip.
- People who look after someone with you can add or change that person's allergens, dietary needs and journal.
- Google or Apple, if you sign in with them, tell us your name, email address (with Apple you can choose to hide it, and Apple then gives us an address that forwards to yours) and an account ID. We don't get your password or anything else from your Google or Apple account. Their own privacy policies (Google, Apple) cover what they do when you sign in with them.
- Apple, Google and RevenueCat tell us which extras your account has bought.
- Open Food Facts and Spoonacular send product and recipe information when you scan or search. It is about products and recipes, not about you.
Phone permissions. The app asks before using:
- the camera, to scan barcodes and to read recipes, receipts and ingredient labels;
- your photo library, only when you pick a photo to scan;
- the microphone and your phone's speech recognition, only while you're using Speak to say items or a recipe instead of typing them;
- notifications, to remind you before food expires and to log your journal (these reminders are scheduled on your phone).
Text in photos is read on your phone. Photos are never uploaded.
Speaking instead of typing. When you tap Speak, your phone's own speech recognition (Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android, or your web browser's) turns what you say into text. Depending on your phone and its settings, that service may process your voice on its servers, under Apple's, Google's or the browser maker's privacy policy. Kitchen Time receives only the text, and keeps it only if you save the items or recipe. We never receive or store recordings.
What we don't collect. We don't collect your location, contacts, advertising ID, browsing history, or information from other apps, except text you choose to share into Kitchen Time with another app's Share button (such as a list or a recipe), which is shown to you to check and kept only if you save it. We don't use cookies or trackers in the app.
How we use it
We use your information only to:
- provide Kitchen Time's features to you and your household, and keep them in sync across your devices;
- check products, recipes and ingredient lists against the allergens, dietary needs and brands you set;
- suggest recipes from what's in your pantry, and estimate expiry dates from typical storage times;
- remind you about food and your journal (scheduled on your phone);
- sign you in, including by emailed links, and keep accounts secure;
- unlock and restore the extras you bought;
- answer your messages and fix problems you report;
- keep the service working, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
What we never do: we don't sell your information or share it for targeted advertising. We don't show ads, use analytics or advertising trackers, build marketing profiles, or use your information to train AI models. We don't send marketing email unless you ask us to.
Automated checks. Allergen and dietary checks, expiry estimates and recipe suggestions are made automatically by matching words and dates. They help you decide; they never make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Legal bases (EU, UK and similar laws)
Where these laws apply, we rely on:
- performing our contract with you (the Terms of Service): your account, syncing, households, purchases, and the features you use;
- your explicit consent for health-related information (allergens, dietary needs, the journal). You give it by choosing to enter that information, and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting it, which doesn't affect what we did before;
- legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, fixing problems and preventing abuse, balanced against your rights;
- legal obligations, such as keeping purchase records or answering lawful requests.
Who can see your information
You. Everything you add is visible to you on any device you sign in to.
Your household, if you join one. Kitchen Time lets people who live together share a pantry and grocery lists. When you join a household, its members can see:
| Shared with your household | Private to you |
|---|---|
| The household pantry and household grocery lists | Your own pantry ("Mine") and your own grocery list |
| Lists sent to a member, including notes, budgets, and prices entered | Your receipts and budget |
| Who added, bought, or was sent an item | Your recipes and food log |
| Your display name and household role | Your email address and password |
| Your allergens, dietary needs and brands to avoid, so warnings can cover everyone in the home (unless you turn sharing off) | Your journal |
| Which Kitchen Time extras you've bought, since they unlock for everyone in the household | Your problem reports and payment details |
| The names of people you look after, and their allergens and dietary needs (unless you turn sharing off for them) | Anything else about them; only the people who look after them can see or edit it |
You can move items between your own pantry and the household's, turn allergen sharing off, and leave a household at any time.
Service providers. We use a few companies to run the app. They process information only for us, under contracts or terms that limit how they use it:
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts our database and sign-in, and sends sign-in emails | Your account, the synced data listed above, and technical information |
| RevenueCat | Handles in-app purchases from the App Store and Google Play | An account ID (not your name or email) and your purchases |
| Apple App Store or Google Play | Distributes the app and processes payments for extras | Payment details you give them, under their own privacy policies |
| Our email provider | Receives email you send us | Your message and email address |
Information services. Two services provide product and recipe information. They receive no account information:
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Open Food Facts and Open Products Facts | Product names, ingredients, and allergen data | The barcode number you scan |
| Spoonacular | Recipe suggestions | Ingredient names from your pantry |
Like any website, every service the app contacts can see your device's IP address.
Legal reasons and safety. We may disclose information if the law requires it (for example a valid court order), to enforce our Terms, or to protect someone's safety or rights. Where the law allows, we'll tell you first.
If OmniVibe changes hands. If OmniVibe LLC or Kitchen Time is sold, merged or reorganized, your information may move to the new owner, and this policy will continue to apply to it. We'll tell you before anything about how it's used changes.
Health-related information
Allergens, dietary needs, brands to avoid, what you eat, and anything you log in the journal (symptoms, mood, energy and notes) can say something about your health. Some US states call this consumer health data (for example Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada and Connecticut). We treat it with extra care:
- You choose whether to enter it, and you can change or delete it at any time. Deleting it withdraws your consent for us to keep it.
- We use it only to check products and recipes for you and your household, show your food log and journal, and send the reminders you set.
- We never sell it, use it for advertising, or share it outside the households and service providers described above. We don't collect it from other sources or use location to target anything.
- The journal is private. Your own journal is seen only by you. A journal you keep for someone you look after is seen only by the people who look after them, never by the rest of the household.
- The journal shows what was eaten around a symptom, but it never says what caused it. It's information to take to a doctor or dietitian, not a diagnosis.
- You can share a journal summary (PDF or text) through your phone's share menu. It's made on your phone and goes only where you send it; once shared, the recipient's own privacy practices apply.
- Within a household, members can see each other's allergens and dietary needs, so a shared pantry can warn about anyone in the home. You can turn this off in Allergens → Share my allergens with my household: your allergens are then still checked for you, but other members can't see them and their warnings leave them out.
- You have the right to see which service providers and third parties receive it (listed above), and to ask us to delete it, as described under "Your rights".
Allergen checks and expiry estimates are a helper, not a guarantee. They rely on product data contributed by the public, on the label text the app can read, and on typical storage times, any of which can be wrong or incomplete. Always read the product's label yourself. Kitchen Time is not a medical device and doesn't give medical advice.
Keeping and deleting your information
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Your account and what you add | While your account exists, until you delete it |
| Items you deleted | Removed from the app at once; kept in our database marked as deleted, so your other devices remove them too, until you delete your account |
| Problem reports | Until the problem is fixed, and no longer than 2 years |
| Purchase records | As long as tax and accounting laws require (usually up to 7 years), without your pantry or health information |
| Technical logs at our hosting provider | A short time, set by the provider (usually days to weeks) |
| Database backups | Overwritten within 7 days |
Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, or by emailing us from your account's email address. That permanently deletes:
- your account, email address, and display name;
- your own pantry, grocery list, recipes, receipts, budget, food log, journal, allergens, dietary needs and brands to avoid;
- the people you look after, unless someone else also looks after them;
- your problem reports.
Items you added to a household pantry or list stay there for the rest of the household, without your name. If you're the last member, the household and everything in it is deleted too. Copies in our database backups are removed within 7 days.
Signing out also clears your information from that phone. Deleting the app removes what's stored on that phone but does not delete your account.
Security
Your data travels over encrypted connections and is stored with a provider that encrypts it at rest. Our database rules let each person read only their own information and what their household shares. Passwords are stored scrambled. Only the people who run Kitchen Time can reach the database, and only to keep it working.
No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use elsewhere and tell us if you think your account has been misused. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children and teens
Accounts. Kitchen Time is not meant for children under 13 to use, and we don't knowingly let them create accounts. Teens aged 13 to 15 may use Kitchen Time only with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
People you look after. A parent or caregiver can add a child (or anyone in their care) as someone they look after, so the app can check food for that person's allergens and dietary needs and keep a journal for them. That person has no account and never signs in. Only the name the adult gives and the information the adult enters is stored, and it's used only for those features. The adult who added them, and anyone they've chosen to look after them too, can see, change or delete it, and removing the person deletes everything stored about them. Only add someone you're allowed to make these choices for.
We don't sell information about children or teens, use it for advertising, or share it beyond what this section describes.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- see and correct your information in the app, or ask us for it;
- get a copy of your information in a common format;
- delete your information or your whole account (in the app, or by email);
- withdraw consent for health-related information by deleting it;
- ask questions or complain to us.
US state privacy rights. Depending on your state (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington), you may also have the right to know what categories of information we collect and why, to correct and delete it, to limit how sensitive information is used, and to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising and profiling. We don't sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or profile people in ways that produce legal or similarly significant effects, so there is nothing to opt out of. We use sensitive information (health information, and your account login) only to provide the features you ask for. We honor Global Privacy Control and similar browser signals, though Kitchen Time doesn't do anything they would stop.
For California residents, in the past 12 months we collected these categories, for the purposes in "How we use it", from you, your household and the services listed above: identifiers (email, account ID, IP address); customer records (name, email); commercial information (purchases of extras, receipts and prices you enter); internet or network activity (technical information); sensitive personal information (account login, health information); and other information you add. We disclosed them for business purposes only to the service providers listed above. We sold or shared none.
EU, UK and similar laws. You also have the right to restrict or object to how we use your information, including to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to complain to your data protection authority.
How to use your rights. Email contact@omnivibegames.com from your account's email address. We may ask you to confirm it's you before acting. Someone you authorize can make a request for you, with your signed permission. We'll answer within 30 days (45 where state law allows, and we'll tell you if we need longer). We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Appeals. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with "Appeal" in the subject. We'll answer within 45 days (60 where state law allows) and explain our decision. If you're not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general or data protection authority.
Where your information is processed
OmniVibe is based in the United States, and our database is hosted in the United States (Ohio, through Supabase on Amazon Web Services). If you use Kitchen Time from elsewhere, including the EU or UK, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States. Where the law requires, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or a provider's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

If the website uses cookies or analytics, we'll describe them on the website and ask for consent where the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how your information is used or shared, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires.
